How do you say "Why does it always feel like I'm caught in the undertow?" in Italian?

I really want to learn Italian but I don't want to to go to school to learn. Can someone give me names of programs, websites or anything that will really works good. Also I want to know how long it will take to learn the language? Please answer because I need ideas. Thank you so much!!!

My brother and father pronounce the word Italian ''Eh-tie-in.'' My mother and I pronounce it ''Eh-tal-yin.'' I've heard some southerners say ''I-tal-yin.'' Most people seem to say it ''Eh-tal-yin'' or something close to that. I honestly have never heard one person say it in the way my brother or dad has. Have you? It seems weird because it'd be impossible to say the word Italy without an L. I have no clue why they'd drop it.

I want to get a tattoo that says, in Italian, "I will find a way or I will make another." Or something like that. (example. if it makes more sense to translate it i will find a way or create another..).
I'm looking for some help! I don't trust the translation websites.

I'm deaf. I can speak english very well, but i have hard time believing that i would be able to speak other languages. for an example I thought if i speak english not so quite perfect does that mean i will not do well with Italian language.

I already know quite a bit of Spanish and am interested in taking Italian. I want to get both done fast, and taking them at the same time seems to be the only way. I just don't want to get the two mixed up. Any Ideas or experience? Thanks

Some words are kind of hard to say.

I will NOT be going to a Spanish country but will be taking 2 classes a week of two hours. I already speak French and Italian quite well. How long will it take me? Also, I intend to watch Spanish TV as often as I can and use Spanish as often as I can on the internet.

I was told florence is boring at night with not much to do after you've seen all the art stuff, but I don't know if it's good to learn italian in milan. I don't want to go to Rome because my girl friends told me that the men there are very rude and impolite always cat calling & hassling women on the street. So I guess it's either milan or florence.
