I am planning to learn the Italian language and I am thinking ways of learning it but what are your suggestions?

Does Mario Batali really speak Italian?

Anyone ever watched his show when he goes to Italy and speaks to someone Italian, he sounds like his lines are memorized and scripted. Anyone else ever thought this as well??

PS - I do love his restaurants!!

Is this Italian translation correct?

I have been getting mixed translations and I want to make sure I have the perfect and correct one, so I thought I would double-check here. The sentence I am trying to translate into Italian is:

The pure of heart have nothing to fear.

The varying translations I have received are:

1. Il puro di cuore avere niente per temere.
2. Il puro di cuore non ha niente per temere.
3. I puri di cuore che non hanno nulla de temere.

Which is the the proper word-for-word translation or is there a better translation you would suggest? Thanks so very much for your help!!!

What are some pro's of getting to visit Italy for 3 weeks with your 2 besties?

i tried talking to them and they think i don't need to lose weight but i know i do. They are all big too, so they don't know what they're talking about. So how can i eat less even when they want me to eat more and they're around everytime i eat?

translate all of this please? I don't want normal americans that don't know a lick of Italian to go translate this on babel fish or other online-translators.

Please only answer if YOU know how to speak Italian, per favore. ;)

How do I learn Italian fast?

English-Italian Translation please!?

How do you say, "Your welcome," "No Problem," and "Thank you" in italian. P.S. please, please, pl-eee-aaa-ss-eee do NOT use a translation website, i used one before, and they jacked up the words i was trying to translate, please do not use a translator such as: google translator, etc..

Also, it would be great if you could show me a link to a website that teaches you italian. I already speak Arabic as my first language, and English as my second, and would LOVE to learn Italian.

Italian Translation and Explanation Needed?

The word 'bellissimo' in italian. I understand that it means very beautiful (masculine) and that bellissima means very beautiful (feminine). Does the word only describe objects or only describe people/animals. Or does it describe both.

Could i use it in a sentence like 'lei e bellissima' or 'lui e bellissimo'?
Is that correct usage of the word?

If that is incorrect, can you give me an example of how it is used?

Is it a rumor?
Tell me if it's true or not. Because a lot of people were talking about this . It's probably a rumor........right?

Spanish is my 2nd language, i learned it at home so I speak it very well. For those of you speak spanish and italian I know its somewhat similar but is it hard to learn it if you already know spanish ? I was listening to 2 guys speak italian next to me today for about 15 mins, I dont even know a little italian but I was still able to somewhat pick up what they were talking about, Some of the words were very similar to spanish words and a few were even the same, It was pretty cool and im now interested in taking it in college, so what do you think will it take time or will i learn it quick since i already know spanish.

should i learn italian or european portuguese?

i am undecided, hope someone can give reasons.

Italian translation of "playground"?

Hi!
A sign maker here in Greece wanted to translate the english word "playground" (= where the children play) into Italian which is "campo/terreno di gioco" (I've found that in the dictionary afterwards).

Instead of that he used the term "zona grecoland" which, as I understand it translates into "greek zone" or area of the greeks".

Is that translation even remotely correct?
Is "zona grecoland" an italian idiom or something like that or did the sign maker make a mistake? (it's not the first time...)

Thank you! :)

It starts off really quite and it works it way up and it sounds like italian/ spainsh music. I know for sure its not "No we speack Americano" If you know the song i'm talking about it would help a hole lot!
Thanks

Viola

Option one: Vi-(as in "vine") oh - luh

Option 2: Vee- oh- luh

two questions actually: what pronunciation do you prefer, and what pronunciation do you think most people will assume when they see it written?

By the way, for those who don't know , it is a real name. Some people think it's not, just the name of the small instrument converted into a name. It actually is also a classic Italian name (the Italian form of "Violet.") I believe the Italian pronunciation is the latter.

This video is in Italian and German.
(They say the same thing in each language because its Tokio Hotel performing in Italy.)
I speak neither. x]

Can someone please translate from German to English or Italian to English for me please?

The part I need translated is from 4:30 to 8:55.
(Its only long because they say the same thing twice each time. xP)
You don't have to watch/listen to/translate the rest of the video at all.

Thank you so much.
Definatley giving ten points to best answer. :]

scivolando in basso

mi hai rimesso al proprio posto
i pi piccoli
pezzi della mia esistenza
componendoli
dando loro una coerenza
come bello il mondo insieme a te

What does "Capovolari" mean? It's in italian.?

I have a homework from Italian class, here is the assigment:

cultural essay:
choose one of the following topics and write a composition of about 200 words. you must demonstrate your cultura knowledge in an organized and cohered essay. have it accompanied by some photos of the "capolavori"and of the cities or places where you find them (poster with description) pictures of the cities where you are traveling to. use evidence of a good command of vocabulary, grammatical accurancy and spelling.

But i have no idea what "capovolari" means? Any help?

word for word italian translation to english?

i want word for word he runs like hell and i was told that word for word translation would be corre come inferno
corre= it runs
come =like
inferno=hell

others tell me that corre come l'inferno is correct and that i need the l' in front of the inferno but that makes the translation come out to he runs like the hell. doesnt for a word for word translation from italian to english doesnt corre come inferno work the best for what iam looking for may be its not the way an italian would put it but for a basic literal translation doesnt corre come inferno work
does corre come inferno have the same meaning as corre come l'inferno and this is what i want i want a word for word translation of he runs like hell. but i it to be like i were to look up each individual word in the dictionary know i know having the l' makes the phrase more authentic italian and gramatically correct but adding that makes the phrase say he runs like the hell and i want it word for word translation. so do you understand if i wanted a word for word translation from the dictionary would corre come inferno work the same as corre come l'inferno besides having the l' in corre come l'inferno making it more authentic and grammatically correct does it mean the same thing corre come inferno and would corre come inferno work for what iam looking for. could corre meaning it is he or she be me my name Joey so then it would say Joey corre come inferno

I'm getting really confused with what tense to use. Would it be ero or stato?
In google translator i got to use 'é stato' but why do you use é when you are talking about yourself?

So how would you say 'I was not impressed with...'
Its for an italian directive writing essay i have to write.

The problem that I am having is how to learn it meaning like my native language is spanish and I learned english and now I want to learn italian. Will it be easier to learn it in the perspective of spanish - italian OR english - italian? Cause Ive been getting confused since Im not sure exactly which one to learn it from. thanks in advanced :)

Tattoo: Italian Translation?

I really need help with this: one of my favorite movies is 'The Tiger and the Snow', it's a Benigni film, and not a very well known one, so I can't find an italian script transcript anywhere!

I want to get a tattoo of one of the Jean Reno quotes from it, but I can't really figure out what he's saying, cause he's very fluent and very fast! :P

The quote is "Every person is a chasm, it makes you dizzy to look down."

My brother is is conversational in Italian, and he THINKS it's "Ogni persona è un abisso, ti fa vertigini a guardare verso giù."

I'm getting this ink'd, so I need to be sure, so if anyone can tell me what it is in italian, or correct this translation, that would be amazing. :)

Please no online translators, already tried it!

Thanks!

hi I am American and my male friend and I are trying to find the correct English to Italian translation of a phrase for a pendant he wants inscribed for his Italian girlfriend as a Christmas gift. They lyric is from her favorite song "use somebody" by kings of leon. What's the word for word translation into Italian? Thank you.

"I hope it's gonna make you notice, someone like me."

All we could find on Google translations is:

"I hope you will see someone like me," LOL, that is not the correct song lyrics.
** no I tried it w/o the comma and it was the same thing...
