Even though Spanish is the second language, I would love to learn Italian. Ive been told to learn spanish first then Italian because they are similar however, Ive always wanted to learn Italian. Ive also been told its a hard language and even if I study it I still wouldnt be able to understand someone if they speak it to me or even be able to communicate with them. Everyone in my family always says to me "You speak Spanish like an Italian". When I say "what does that mean?" they reply "I don't know, you just speak Spanish like an Italian person would".

watching italian shows on youtube? i already know english (obviously) and spanish, i want to learn a new language...

I am italian and grew up around italian speakers(grandparents and auntys), will it be quicker for me to speak it, if I go to Italy or learn it on computer or books. if I go to Italy I will only be spending 2 or 3 weeks there.
also, I can understand more fluently than I can speak Italian. I sometimes speak italian to grandparents, but I take my time to think of the words!
Also, I am a quick learner!!

In Italian, how do you pronounce the words pollo(chicken) and sonno(sleepy)

Is sonno pronounced similarly to sono, except with a longer "n" or does the the double in sound like "ny" making the pronuncaition "son-yo"

I know in Spanish the "ll" in pollo makes the "y" sound. But is it the same in Italian, or is it simply a long "l". Pol-lo or poy-yo.

I am Chinese and volunteered in the BC World Police & Fire Games 2009. I have met athletes all over the world in over 66 countries. I was friendly to each individiual, however; this one guy who is an Italian Firefighter seems to treat my differently as oppose to the rest of his Italian team. I bumped into him in a different event after I met him in the first one with a brief hi chat, and he is having difficulty speaking English to me, but still tries. He winked at me several times the 2nd meeting, and on our 3rd day we saw each other he kissed both my cheeks (which felt awkward because North Americans DO NOT do this), he later asked for my e-mail. Is he just being a charming friendly Italian or is he actually into me? HELP PLEASE
