If I tell my dad to speak to me only in Italian, would I learn Italian faster than taking a class?

My dad speaks fluent Italian. I understand it well, but can't really speak it. I found an Italian class in the area but the class is like really beginner and it's expensive.

I was thinking maybe I can make my dad speak to me only in Italian and I'll answer back only in Italian? Would that work?

Which would be more effective?

Is italian a good language to learn. Is it complete?

I mean I know a whole nation speaks it but anyway I just want to learn another language for fun I speak spanish already and I hate french it sounds horrible. But italian is so cool but it seems that it doesnt have so many vocabulary. so what do you think? should i learn it?
