Italian Language Archives

I have recently become interested in learning Italian. Although I learn through conversation and auditory learning styles. So I was wondering if there was a website where I could talk to Italian speakers over e-mails who also needs help learning English. So it would be a two way learning experience.

Thanks for your help :)

I need this for an intro in my speech.

I don't know how to read this italian guy?

We have an international student from Italy and I got to meet him yesterday. He let me into my friends building and later I went back downstairs to wash a dish and he was in the hallway with one of his suitemates. I started washing the dish and one of my friends started talking to him and I told my friends to look at my pictures from my trip to Italy. As soon as I said that he perked up and asked who went to Italy. I told him that I did and he asked me where I went. His eyes just lit up and I had his full attention at this point. I told him where I went and he told me that he was from Naples, Italy. I told him that I had went to Naples before by accident and it was a disaster. He got from where he was sitting to come and sit at a table across from me to talk. I told him my story and got up and sat somewhere else. Then I said that I had fun even though I didn't speak English for 2 months. He asked me if I spoke Italian and I said yes and he had a huge smile on his face. And then he asked me to speak in italian in italian and then we started talking in italian. He asked me if I was born in Italy and I told him that my dad was born in Calabria. He told me that his great-grandfather was from Calabria. Then I had to leave and he said bye to me. I saw him again today from a brief moment and he said hi. I don't really describe his facial expressions through all this but he just lit up. When I talked to him, it felt like we were the only 2 people in the room even though there were 2 other people. I'm not used to a guy actually caring what I have to say. I really think that this year we are going to become friends. Is this just an italian guy thing or could he be somewhat interested in me?

I've never spoken a word of Italian before, so I'm a real beginner. Is there a website that'll teach me the meanings, pronunciations and spellings of Italian VERY SLOWLY?

I'M AN ITALIAN SPEAKER.
But I have often read your answers about this.
And I wondered that many persons answered that Italian is easy. That's right for Spanish or French native speakers (there strong similarities).
But I can't judge this issue.I can't say it's wrong

Please in your answer, give me following DETAILS:
- YOUR NATIVE LANGUAGE
- YOUR KNOWLEDGE OF ITALIAN
Attention,
This question is on AnswerUSA pages.
Please answer in English.
Don't be fooled by links on AnswerItalia

Or, how do your parents talk about them as you grow up?
How do you personally feel about them?
Dislikes/Likes, etc.

I'm talking a thick pizza with lots of cheese, pepperoni, hot peppers, and Italian sausage?

The pizza in Rome was pretty bland, so I'thinking since the south of Italy produced the most immigrants to the USA, that's where the pizza (and other Italian foods) will be most simmilar. Probably not real simmilar, but something alike. More so than Rome, put it that way. The 6 provinces are:

Sicily
Calabria
Basilicata
Puglia
Compania (Naples)
Molise
