Hello i have been learning spanish for a few months it is easy and i learn fast but since there are many italian people in my country (Greece) i decided to learn Italian so i can talk to them.At first i thought of learning only the basics just to be able to understand them my mother has rooms to let so when Italians rent a room it is hard to understand and help them especially when they need something as most Italians i have met do not speak English or Greek and to impress my Italian friends. The thing is that have started to love Italian as much as spanish they are Beautiful languages and i want to learn them both but should i focus on the one and leave the other?I do not want to do that as i have become quite fluent in spanish and i am afraid that if i stop learning i will forget what i know.On the other hand i do not want to leave Italian cause i like it too much. I think i can handle them both they are easy languages and learning languages is my strength also i believe spanish can help me with italian.Any suggestions?

I want to name my cat something hilarious, but in a different language so kids can actually visit him. Preferably in Italian, but it doesn't particularly matter. Oh, and if you didn't get the idea already, I want the slang to be vulgar.

I am a student who speaks/studies all five languages - German, Italian, Japanese, French and Chinese (my mothertongue).
I am currently recruiting students at a language center to study these languages. However, I do not know how to 'sell' or advertise the languages listed above - why they are worthy of learning, how is it beneficial, and anything that would attract people to learn these languages!
Please help out!!!! Thanks!

Native Americans are of course the original ethnic group of America. Now then, many people talk about African-American, Cuban-American, Italian-American and other ethnic groups. Which one was the original? When you go back before the Italians of the late 1800's, back before the Irish of the 1850's, which ethnic group was the first after the Native Americans?

What's the difference, between, "Piedmontese" accent, and the "Sicilian" one?
Is it, only, the way you spell the word, or there are different words included, withing each accent?
Does anyone know, any tutorial, video, on the web, that allows me preview to dialects?
Thanks.

Most of the people where I'm from are Italian Americans. Most of them are like the people from Jersey Shore and it's really annoying. They try to act cool every second of the day, and always talk about "Italia" even though there not actually from there. So I was wondering, are Italians from Italy like them or is that just Italian Americans that act like that.

My son went to Italy for a week with his grandparents this past summer. He talks about Italy all the time and recently shared with me that he would really like to learn Italian. Where can I take him to make sure he is taught correctly since I don't speak it. I would be more than happy to take it with him so that he has someone to talk to and practice with, but where can we go? I'm in Phoenix, Arizona. Thanks
