I am planning on getting a tattoo saying life is beautiful in Italian. Some people have told me it is 'vita e' bella' but others have said it is 'la vita e' bella'. I want it to say life is beautiful not the life is beautiful. Please can you help me. I don't want to get a tattoo that is wrong!

The article "La" is required in Italian, so it’s "La vita è bella"
Note the right type of accent on letter e (Grave accent)
la vita è bella
"La vita e’ bella" is more grammatically correct than "Vita e’ bella." The articles in Italian roughly correspond to "the" and "a/n" in English but are much more important. They’re essentially a part of the word and removing them actually make sentences sound off. All in all I’d opt for "La vita e’ bella". Again, it has a more comfortable feel to an Italian speaker.
no question about it:
la vita è bella
—————————–
vita è bella
wrong, wrong, wrong!!!
