I need to know for reasons. And I don't what to use google translate because the grammar wouldn't be relevant. Thanks(:

What are the similarities between French and Italian?

I was wondering, what proportion of these separate languages is common between them in terms of grammar and vocabulary?? and can you provide some examples??
Thanks a lot!!!

Are the Spanish and Italian languages similar?

There was an Italian girl (on a temporary exchange I think) in my old Spanish class once. Seeing as there weren't any Italian classes in my school - only the basic French, German or Spanish - she opted for our class. I was amazed at how much better she was than the rest of us were, and we had already been studying the language about 3 years then. So I'm wondering, is there a close similarity between the Spanish and Italian languages in grammar and vocabulary? Obviously they're not the same: I can tell when someone is speaking Spanish or not; but if I were to ever start learning Italian, would I find it easier if I had completely mastered Spanish?

Italian translation – Please please help?

I simply want to say "To the most beautiful girl in the world"

If anyone could translate this properly into Italian I would be ever so grateful.

Please please please please please dont use a translater tool, as the grammar is usually wrong. :(

Thankyou again to anywho who translates it right :)
By the way, for anyone who wants to know, this is for my Girlfriend, and I would really like it to be right. As she speaks fluent Italian, I thought would be a nice message in her card, and to show I've actually tried putting a little effort into getting it to Italian :)

I know that they are different languages spoken by different peoples; but what I want to know is the difference between Arabic, Farsi, and Urdu similar to the difference between Latin, Spanish, and Italian i.e. grammar and vocabulary-wise?

Why are French and Italian so similar?

I mean, except in pronunciation, Italian and French are even more similar than Italian and Spanish. They share 89% of their vocabularies and the grammar is even more similar than those of Spanish and Portuguese. Do you know if they come from the same variety of Latin, while Spanish and Portuguese evolved from another variety?

I can read, write and speak English, Punjabi, Hindi and some spanish. I want to learn Italian. i have searched online but the pronunciation and grammar is confusing to me. How can I understand it better?

So my family hosted an exchange student from Italy this past school year. I'd been taking Italian classes for a year before she arrived, and during the year she was with us. I also learned quite a bit just from having her around. This summer, she and her family invited me back to Italy to stay with them for a month in an area where there aren't a lot of tourists (obviously) and it's very.. Italian! So, I'm here, and I've been here for three days but for some reason, whenever I go out, I speak English. Most people can understand me well enough and I'd really like to speak Italian to them but I get flustered when I do and stammer and all of the people think I'm stupid or something. It's funny because I can almost 100% understand what they are all saying, but I don't talk to them at all except every now and then in English. So, it sounds really stupid, but how can I push myself past the fear of messing up the grammar or mispronouncing something and being laughed at? Because speaking English isn't any better then that. My exchange student speaks nearly perfect English so I talk to her all the time but everyone else speaks butchered English. I really just need to open my mouth and SPEAK but for some reason, I get really embarrassed and just can't find my words. Pep talk, please??? :)

Which language has the easiest grammar?

I'm going to learn one of them, so I kinda need to know ^^

how long will it take me to learn italian?

I'm 16 and I've always wanted to learn since I was little. I'm pretty good with the accent and im ~okay~ with pronounciation. I know a few words and phrases already, but I would like to be able to hold a conversation. I'm not so worried about the writing/grammar stuff, just conversation!!

How long will it take me to learn it? Is it difficult? I'm very lazy and I don't want to give up. Does anyone have any advice or tips?? Please, I will appreciate anything!!

How Greek, Italian and Spanish are similar?

grammar and vocabulary
No! I meant the languages!
Colombians, Greeks, Italians and Spanish people are beautiful, but I meant how their languages are similar.

Extra Italian Study and Tutoring?

I'm currently taking an Italian class that I'm not doing too bad in, but my vocabulary and grammar are still pretty terrible. My teacher recommended watching and listening to Italian programs.

I was wondering if anyone could recommend any good Italian songs or websites that display live video and broadcasts. In terms of music I'd really like something along the lines of Laura Non C'e by Nek. Thanks for any suggestions.

How do you find the italian accent?

Do you think it's cute, rude, sexy or annoying?
Please tell me some adjectives, I'm not talking about bad grammar -that's always annoying- just about accents...

I am learning Italian (English is my native language). I would like to know of any study helps, specifically, words, grammar, etc. in flashcard form on-line. Please include ANY links you think would help! Thank you!

My parents are from Argentina, and Spanish was my first language until I was 2... but living in America I lost my accent. But I can still speak Spanish pretty well, except my grammar is off because I was never formally educated on the language, I just learned by ear... My parents would speak to me in Spanish and I would respond in English.

So, is Italian easy to learn if the person already knows Spanish?

anyone is interested to speak Italian?

Hi everyone!

Which textbook let me learn Italian in English?

I need a software that has tons of exercises on grammar, vocabulary, etc. and with answers to correct my work.

could i be fluent in italian if……..?

i already know the basics like colours ,numbers, days, months and greetings plus more!
and even if i knew most of the italian vocabulary, will i still need to be naturally talented at putting together sentences and talented at languages? or can anyone do this with persistence and hard work?
suggestions please. i want to be able to speak paragraphs at the least.
including grammar, pronounsiation and gender thingo as in rossa/o etc.....

and all the grammar ? Im just looking for that one key that maybe made it easier for you .

I know that English and Spanish share a lot of Latin words that make it really easy to learn vocabulary... is it similar in Italian? For instance:

instruction - instrucción
community - comunidad
legislator - legislador
history - historia
talent - talento
future - futuro

Is Italian like this also? I have heard (I reserve the right to be wrong) that it is the closest living language to Italian so I was assuming that it probably has many words I will recognize immediately like this.

Words like this made it really easy for me to pick up a lot of vocabulary really fast early on in my learning Spanish. The hardest part was the grammar which I'm finally starting to feel very comfortable with now after lots of study. I want to learn Italian once I improve my Spanish speaking abilities (I am pretty comfortable reading and listening but my writing and even more so my speaking still needs lots of improvement) and I was wondering if someone could tell me how similar the grammar and vocabulary is. Will the grammar be familiar to me in word lay out and are there reflexive verbs? Do they conjugate much in the same way as Spanish (vivo, vive, vives, viví, vivía, viviste, viviré, etc) or is it a lot different? I know this is a lot for one question but I am very curious. Thanks in advance for anyone who takes the time to answer me!

I just started learning Italian a month ago and would like to have some basic reading to practise my grammar and expand my vocabulary. Fairly short comprehension texts would be alright, but short stories or articles would be much better - provided they are easy and straightforward enough for me to understand.. Aiuto!!

Italian novel recommendation?

I just finished a first year Italian university course and am looking to keep up my Italian vocabulary and grammar throughout the summer holidays. I was hoping someone might know a couple of fiction novels with interesting plot lines for maybe ages 10-14 that I could keep practice with. I enjoy the comedy/romance and fantasy genres. Thanks!

How long might it take to learn Italian?

Not to be totally fluent, but decent at it. Like able to go to Italy and get by.
I also already have some background in Spanish which i know is similar to Italian in words and verbs and grammar, but obviously not the same.

What is the fastest way to learn Italian?

I have the Rosetta Stone and that helps a lot but it doesn't teach the grammar and I don't really have the time for it usually. I just want to be able to have a normal conversation in Italian. The programs usually teach everything else first. Any ideas?

What is easier to learn Italian or Chinese?

Key Points:

One of my weak points is grammar. Writing and speaking is my strong point. I want to know which language would be best suitable for me according to those key points.

I want to also know your opinions. What do you think is an easier language to learn Italian or Chinese?

Reason why I am looking for:

I studied Italian for 3 years at High school and now I´ve been studying this beautiful language for another 3 years at a university. But the university is mainly oriented on literature and grammar, so I do not have enough space to talk with someone in Italian. And I need it a lot. Could you please tell me how? I think the best and the fastest way is to chat or to talk(Skype, Paltalk)with someone who wants you to help to improve your language skills. Please, how can I contact someone?
