Both are pretty IMO, but my boyfriend speaks both so it doesn't really matter. I want to be able to talk to him without others eavesdropping in public or whatever. I've already begun learning Italian, and understand the genders/pronunciation, but my friend Zoey is learning French and it'd be cool to be able to speak to her without others eavesdropping, ect.
I understand that Italian is a lot easier than French, so what do y'all think?
PS: I speak swedish.

I'd like to learn a language by myself in my free time and my first choice is French; second-Italian. I dont have time to attend classes.
I heard that Italian is easier to learn because of the pronunciation, but French is spoken more widely than Italian. Also if I learn Italian, it might be easier to learn Spanish and Portuguese. I'd also like to go to Canada someday and French might come in handy if I'm in Montreal. So should I choose the useful French or easier Italian?

Please don't answer unless you are sure.
Please do not type it into a translator

For the song "O del mio dolce ardor". I can't for the life of me figure out how to pronounce the lyrics to this song, or the title for that matter. Does anybody know a site that has the pronunciation writen out, not an audio file? Or can you give it to me in your answer if you happen to know the song?
Thanks

When in Italy you meet an English-speaking person, you say "Wow, he/she's from America/England!"
I think it's less probable for you to hear an Italian person talking, but if you have ever heard, how did it sound? Thanks!
Here are some words:
Apple = Mela
English = Inglese
Dog = Cane
Cat = Gatto
Sky = Cielo
Cloud = Nuvola
Sun = Sole
Love = Amore
Star = Stella
[notice that pronunciation is very different
